Krueger Brothers Construction is Hiring a Construction Superintendent Near Colorado, CO

Reports To: Project Manager or Production Manager

Position Summary:

The Construction Superintendent plays a critical role in our construction projects, overseeing and coordinating day-to-day operations to ensure projects are completed efficiently, timely, within budget, and to the Krueger Brothers Construction quality standards. Working closely with the Production Manager, the Superintendent is responsible for managing project schedules, coordinating subcontractors and crews, and maintaining effective communication with all stakeholders. The Superintendent will also assist with hands-on tasks when necessary and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Coordination and Oversight:

  • Collaborate with the Production Manager to develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring milestones are met and resources are utilized effectively.
  • Oversee all aspects of construction projects, including material procurement, crew scheduling, and subcontractor coordination.
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, address issues, and ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
  • Use daily logs to document progress and schedule inspections for each site visit, customer communication or other items as needed.
  • Perform small tasks such as framing, siding, trim, and drywall repairs to expedite work when subcontractors are not readily available.

Team Coordination:

  • Provide guidance and assistance to the scheduling and procurement teams as well as foremen and construction crews, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and to the required standards.
  • Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork and professional growth among project team members.
  • Help supervise construction workers and ensure they adhere to project plans and safety protocols.

Customer Communication and Satisfaction:

  • Maintain open and transparent communication with customers throughout the project lifecycle, addressing inquiries, concerns, and feedback promptly and professionally.
  • Provide regular updates to customers on project progress, milestones, and any changes to the project scope.
  • Walk projects with homeowners as they near completion, document any punch list items and ensure they are completed in a quality and timely manner.
  • Communicate payment timing with customers and collect all due payments in a timely manner.

Budget Management:

  • Collaborate with the Project Manager to create and manage project budgets, tracking expenditures against budgets and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Implement strategies to keep projects within budget, including value engineering and cost-saving initiatives.

Quality Assurance and Compliance:

  • Ensure all work meets quality standards, regulatory requirements, and project specifications.
  • Conduct regular inspections and quality checks to identify and address any issues or deficiencies promptly.
  • Conduct health and safety inspections to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Ensure all punch list items are taken care of to the KBC quality standards

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, related field, or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of construction experience, with demonstrated proficiency in project coordination and management.
  • Strong team member with the skills and ability to collaborate with, motivate, and inspire teams to achieve project goals.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, subcontractors, and internal team members.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as needed.
  • Strong leadership, time-management, and decision-making skills.
  • Keen attention to detail and the ability to multitask.
  • Knowledge of health and safety laws.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
