OverviewThe Hydraulic Application Engineer guides research and development of pump technology to support hydraulic designs, including the development and refinement of standard and non-standard hydraulic layouts.
You will primarily work with the aftermarket engineering and sales teams to ensure operational conditions are met and within specifications basis performance testing. You will additionally collaborate with KSB teams to oversee experimental and computational research.
Responsibilities

• Owns the selection and modification of hydraulic criteria to satisfy the customer’s requirements.
• Supervises the production of pump proposal curves in sufficient detail to allow a quotation to be produced.
• Uses computational fluid dynamics models and computer aided design tools to perform simulations of hydraulic performance.
• Guides and analyses the work of other engineers performing hydraulic experiments carried out internally and externally, including flow visualization studies and rotor dynamic analyses.
• Writes reports and journal publications documenting the setup, procedures, and findings of research projects and computational analyses.
• Develops procedures for carrying out specialized simulations.
• On receipt of an order, assists service coordinator and customer service personnel in the order review process to ensure that the quotation and customer requirements are understood and considered.
• Attend customer meetings with sales as requested. Assists in the training and development of engineering personnel
• Performs, reviews, and documents pump performance tests both in house and at vendor sites

Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or similar field (Required) with focus on fluid mechanics (preferred).
• Minimum 3 years experience in pump design
• Adept with spreadsheet and other mathematical analysis software.
• Understands 3D CAD and CFD modeling.
