KSHB / KMCI / The EW Scripps Company is Hiring a Production Supervisor, KSHB Near Kansas, MO
The Production Supervisor, at KSHB will supervise the production personnel as well as maintain the studio calendar and coordinating production personnel work schedules. They also oversee studio maintenance like lighting, etc. and assist with preparing the studio and staff for special events and programs. This position will also be an acting director, technical director, or other studio role. WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Assist director of operations with personnel decisions including hiring, performance management, coaching, training, and development.
Act as a studio role such as director/technical director and as back-up to such positions.
Coordinate production personnel work schedules and studio calendar/scheduling.
Oversee studio maintenance and changes as necessary, i.e. lighting, shot blocking, set, etc.
Assist director of operations in coordinating special events including meetings, planning with multiple departments, and on-location planning.
Coordinate special event staff scheduling.
Other duties as assigned by manager.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
BS/BA in related discipline or equivalent years of experience preferred
Generally, 5 years of experience in related field preferred
Prior supervisory experience a plus

Ability to work well with all levels of personnel and departments to plan and negotiate
Strong organizational skills
Must be detail-oriented
Familiarity with live broadcast newsroom and production operations
Ability to work all studio positions and at least two control room positions
Ability to read/follow up on newscast variance reports and continuous creative improvement of all shows
Ability to prioritize projects and tasks
Strong leadership skills to maintain department morale and team building
Microsoft Office experience
Familiarity with work scheduling for a multi-shift department
Excellent oral and written communications skills
Keen sense for anticipating issues and resolving them before they occur
Additional Requirements
"On-call" person for assigned shift to fill in for various positions: director, control room, studio, SAT center
Requires squatting, lifting, and climbing
Able climb ladders and other equipment
Possible non-traditional shift, 2:15pm-10:45pm, may include weekends, holidays, and special events
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
