Job Description:We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join our team. The Junior Accountant will play a crucial role in supporting our financial operations, ensuring compliance with government regulations, and contributing to the overall success of our projects. Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation and maintenance of financial records, including but not limited to, accounts payable/receivable, expense reports, and general ledger entries.
- Perform reconciliations of bank statements, credit card statements, and other financial accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness of transactions.
- Support the month-end close process by preparing journal entries, accruals, and variance analyses.
- Assist with the preparation of financial reports and presentations for management and government agencies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with government regulations, including Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) requirements.
- Assist in the preparation of contract proposals, including cost estimation and pricing analysis.
- Contribute to process improvements and efficiency initiatives within the finance department.
- Stay updated on relevant accounting standards, regulations, and best practices in government contracting.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Previous experience or internship in accounting or finance, preferably in a government contracting environment.
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of government contracting regulations and compliance requirements (e.g., FAR, CAS) is a plus.
