Position Summary: The Fixed Equipment Maintenance Inspection Specialist will interface with plant personnel to accurately define and provide fixed equipment inspection activities per plant and industry criteria. This position is assigned to the Maintenance Department and reports directly to the Maintenance Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Work safely by following all KAI policies, procedures, and Leadership expectations.
- Own and maintain the Kuraray Bayport MI program for fixed equipment and piping based upon KAI, local site, API, and OSHA requirements and regulations.
- Define and lead fixed equipment and piping inspections for routine maintenance, turnaround, capital, and special project activities.
- Define scope of work for inspection contract services and coordinate between all contract personnel.
- Produce inspection cost estimates for turnarounds, capital projects, and special projects.
Minimum Qualifications:
- HS Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 10 years of piping and fixed equipment inspection experience in routine maintenance, turnaround maintenance, or combined environments.
- Certifications in API 510, API 570, and API 653
- Work experience with UT (ultrasonic thickness testing), PT (penetrant testing), MT (magnetic particle testing), RT (radiographic testing), VT (Visual Inspection), PMI (positive material identification).
- Experience in quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) of fabricating piping and equipment in chemical plants and/or refineries.
- Ability to lead and direct contract inspection activities for routine maintenance, turnarounds, capital projects, and special projects.
- Experience working with Inspection Data Management Systems PCMS.
- Experience working with multi-discipline team developing repair and testing strategies for piping and fixed equipment repair.
- Experience with corrosion systemization and circuitization.
- A good working knowledge of P&IDs (Process and Instrumentation Diagrams) and PFDs (Process Flow Diagrams).
- Good mathematical and science background
- Strong problem-solving abilities.
- Good working knowledge Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
