Summary/ObjectiveThe Analyst, Investment Operations is responsible for ensuring the efficiencies of the Investment, Treasury and Finance team and will assist in day-to-day security position review. The Associate will work closely with the investment teams, back-office internal departments, and external counterparties.
Duties And ResponsibilitiesDuties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to
- Review and determine resolutions to activity, holdings, and cash reconciliations, working with the trading desk, external counterparties, and administrators
- Responsible for maintaining private securities legal registrations, including post-transfer physical security re-registrations and administrative details updates.
- Assist with FHLB program and secondary private placement purchases and sales and internal asset transfers,
- Collaborate with internal teams such as the Trading Desk, Portfolio Analysis, Investment Accounting, Tax, and Legal to support cross-functional initiatives and to optimize operational processes.
- Frequent interaction with management and directors using an effective communication style.
- Perform a periodic analysis and interpretation of data to support Kuvare decision-making and reporting.
- Maintains documentation and support for any portfolio changes, regulatory, transfer and Internal Audit requests.
The Analyst, Investment Operations works on issues of limited scope, following established practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data from which answers can be readily obtained. The Analyst must have full knowledge of the department’s functional responsibility. The Analyst is expected to participate in decisions around functional projects and process improvements.
Knowledge and Experience – Analyst, Investment Operations
- A Bachelor degree with a concentration in Finance, Accounting, or Economics.
- 5 years’ experience in financial services operations, preferably in insurance industry.
- Experience with systems related to area of responsibility (familiarity with Bloomberg, Aladdin, and Bank Portals preferred).
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Solid analytical skills and attention to detail required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with key partners and business leaders.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver results in a tight timeframe; excellent organizational and planning skills needed.
- Advanced knowledge and application of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel advanced functions including Pivot Tables, vLookups,etc.
- Normal office working environment
- Ability to type / perform data entry
- Ability to read from a computer screen and paper reports
- Express ideas and otherwise communicate with the spoken and written word
