Teacher Assistant Supervisor - KVC Academy Columbia
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00AM-3:00PM
Job Summary
The Teacher Assistant Supervisor will play a pivotal role in supporting the educational and developmental needs of students with special needs. This position involves supervising and mentoring a team of teacher assistants, ensuring the delivery of high-quality support and instruction, and collaborating closely with special education teachers and school administrators.

Responsibility

• Supervise, train, and evaluate a team of teacher assistants working in special education classrooms.
• Develop and implement training programs and professional development opportunities for teacher assistants.
• Coordinate and schedule teacher assistant assignments to ensure adequate classroom support.
• Assist in the development and implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior management plans.
• Provide direct support and assistance to students with special needs as needed.
• Collaborate with special education teachers to plan and deliver effective instructional strategies and interventions.
• Monitor and document the progress and performance of teacher assistants and students.
• Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and learning.
• Communicate regularly with parents, guardians, and school staff to provide updates on student progress and address any concerns.

Preferred Experience/Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in social services related field

• Served in the class room or in a residential care setting
