Shift: Overnights

Kwik Trip, Inc. has an excellent opportunity for an experienced Safety professional. The primary responsibilities for this person will be to help our Distribution Center coordinate, promote, and sustain a Zero Injury Culture.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Coordinate safety programs for the Distribution Center under the direction of the Division Supervisor and Division Management to reduce or eliminate occupational injuries, illnesses, deaths and financial losses
  • Review and investigate all injuries and near miss accidents by conducting a Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to further prevent or eliminate any work hazards
  • Conduct comprehensive monthly department safety audits
  • Update process documentation (LOTO, Confined Space, PPE, etc.) as equipment is added / removed from the department
  • Participate in the Department’s Safety Committee Meetings
  • Inspect Fire Extinguishers, Eye Wash Systems and AEDs
  • Coordinate the Department’s emergency action practice drills to ensure that response systems and operations are in a “ready” state
  • Coordinate Department training for Safety and QA / Food Safety
  • Utilize the New Co-worker Orientation (NCO) Plan when training new team members
  • Participate in the development and implementation of the Disaster Recovery Plan
  • Assist the management team with any additional tasks
  • Promptly address and seek resolution to all safety issues, assist with reporting and completing incidents in INFORM

Qualifications: 

  • Associate’s degree in a related field and / or two plus years work experience in a Warehouse environment or manufacturing facility, with an emphasis on workplace safety
  • Understanding of OSHA guidelines and other state and safety regulations
  • Candidates should have the 10-hour OSHA certification or the ability to obtain it, as well as be First Aid certified
  • Knowledge of safety policies / programs, GMP’s, and sanitation practices
  • Knowledge of daily warehouse operations / processes
  • Knowledge of PPE and chemical safety
  • Possess exceptional presentation skills with the ability to influence change
  • Demonstrate strong leadership qualities
  • Demonstrate a high level of time management and organizational skills resulting in the ability to prioritize multiple projects and manage multiple tasks while meeting deadlines
  • Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers of all personalities, as well as coaching and problem solving skills
  • Power equipment training, “train the trainer” certification
  • Ability to operate a computer and be proficient with Microsoft Office products

Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, overnight hours. 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM. Must be flexible to work additional hours and weekends if needed. Some travel could be required.
