Job Description : The Paid Student Teacher is a temporary position. Incumbents serve as a contributing staff member on an identified school learning team during the duration of their two semester / yearlong university student teaching.

A Paid Student Teacher may take on various assigned instructional process and content roles (such as lesson planning, large-group instruction, small-group instruction, individual interventions, data analysis, grading, assisting with digital instruction, subject specialization, and non-instructional tasks).

The Paid Student Teacher; is provided with instructional methods and tools; develops expertise in various areas of instruction;

contributes ideas for ongoing improvement; and works collaboratively with the school team to review student progress and change instruction to ensure high-progress learning for every child.

The mentor teacher(s) help to evaluate Paid Student Teacher.

Minimum Qualifications : In good standing in university teacher preparation program and eligible to begin student teaching Demonstrated effectiveness working with people who have differing cultural backgrounds and / or personal characteristics, including race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or economic differences.

Licensing / Certification Requirements : Valid IVP Level One AZ Fingerprint Clearance Card is required.

Salary Information : Board Approved Stipend of $12,000
