Job Title: Forklift Operator
Location : St louis MO
6 Months Contract on W2
2nd Shift - 3:30PM to 11:30PM

Job Description
Production Forklift Driver-Labor Grade 19

Forklift driver will be trained on all steps of the job.
Stretching exercises will be done at the start of every shift.
Supervisor will go over Job Safety Analysis sheets, Safety Checklist, required personal protective equipment (PPE) and instructions on daily clean up
Qualifications:

Must possess the following skills after they have been through a reasonable training period

  • Must have good communication skills
  • Must be able to work different shifts for overtime, as needed
  • Will be required to be certified on forklift every 3 years
  • Will be required to perform other tasks that might not be listed, as needed.

Production Lamination
Dies
1. Place sleeves on the forks when transporting all dies without feet.
2. Take dies to Toolroom from dirty racks and for repair or changeover.
3. Stage dies from Toolroom or bring to press if holding press.
Taking lamination to furnace
1. Remove lamination from progressive and cell staging area.
2. Place with like laminations in furnace area.
3. Remove scrap laminations if necessary.
Empty Hoppers
1. All scrap hoppers in lamination
2. All trash hoppers in lamination
Grossman Hoppers
1. Under Prab Chute let them fill to capacity, but not too full.
2. Take outside with Bigfoot when full and replace with an empty Grossman hopper.
Floor Supplies
1. Pallets: keep all locations in department full, keep extras inside out of the weather and unload pallet truck when it comes in.
2. Plywood: keep all locations full and bring it in from the furnace area.
3. Lubricant: unload full containers off of truck and load empties on the truck, set full container up at mixer when needed and remove empty one prior to.
Clean Up
1. Take any lamination in staging areas to the furnace
2. Empty all scrap and trash hoppers.
3. Check Grossman hoppers at Prab area and remove if necessary and replace with empty hopper.
Production Parts Dept.
Dies
1. Put dies in and take out of presses.
2. Take dies to Toolroom.
3. Place dies in correct location on die racks.

Stock Area
1. Take parts out and put parts in.
2. Stack pallets, when able to.
3. Stack baskets (small baskets from ***ott go 6 high and our large baskets go 5 high.
Shipping Area
1. Stack boxes when necessary
2. Keep everything organize
3. When tagged and ready take to correct shipping area.
Supplies
1. Keep pallets stocked at all locations in department.
2. Bring extras in out of weather
3. Unload lubricants off truck and put in proper rack.
Clean-up
1. Empty all scrap and trash hoppers in the department.
2. Make sure there are plenty of pallets stacked up in all locations in department.
3. Make sure all empty baskets and bins are taken outside.
Unloading Trucks
1. You may have coils, parts, baskets or lumber to unload.

Production Annealing
Laminations
1. Place lamination in correct location, communicating with Team Leader in department.
2. Make sure you stack lamination straight.
Dock Area
1. Always keep dock area cleared off, by putting boxed lamination in correct area of shipping dock (try to keep partial boxes on the top).
2. Take unlabeled boxes to lamination Non Con area.
Pallets
1. Bring pallets when needed
2. Take plywood to lamination when needed

Production Tool Room
Dies
1. Bring in and take out dies.
2. Keep dies organized and in a rack if there is a location for them.
3. Bring in bolster plates to be cleaned or repaired.
4. Take dies with a green H in paper work to the press from Toolroom.
5. Bring in various types of parts when necessary.

Forklifts
1. At start of shift complete inspection book
2. Make sure fork truck is placed on the charger, when needed
Clean Up
1. Make sure all trash is removed from the truck.

Note: Last shift of the week fork truck drivers must plug up daily used fork trucks to charge.

Essential Functions- Forklift Driver

The Forklift Driver must be able to perform these functions in a manner that does not compromise their safety or the safety of coworkers. The Forklift Driver must be able to perform these task for a minimum of 8 hours per day, 5 days a week. If an employee is unable to perform these essential functions it is their responsibility to bring this to the attention of their supervisor, manager, or Human Resource Manager. In these situations, *** will discuss and attempt to provide any reasonable accommodations that may be available.

Ability to understand and follow all *** safety policies, safety training and hazard communication information. This includes but is not limited to wearing proper personal protective equipment (PPE) such as: hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, safety shoes, cut resistant gloves, and safety sleeves when required.

Lift and or carry up to 50 pounds.

Must be self-motivated and at times work independently and be able to effectively communicate information to supervisors, managers, tool room personnel and coworkers.

Frequently grip with hands, turn, push, and bend, along with occasional reaching above shoulder level, pulling and handle cranking.

Ability to sit for long periods of time and to keep up with the demanding pace of production in a hot and cold environment.

Possess the dexterity and hand-eye coordination to operate various forklifts and other equipment to complete a variety of complex task. Equipment includes but is not limited to: forklift, Bigfoot, electric and manual pallet jacks, and controls with buttons.

Ability to inspect and ensure equipment is in proper working order prior to operating.

Ability to obtain forklift operator license.

Ability to comprehend and follow both written and verbal instructions. Ability to understand production orders, schedules, and special instructions related to your task and complete inspections as required.

Ability to maintain regular work attendance, including arriving at work on time and remaining at work until the end of the schedules work day.

Ability to work daily and weekend overtime, including overtime on short notice.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $19.00 - $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
