Job Details Job Location Norton Shores Production Facility - Norton Shores, MI Position Type Full Time Salary Range $23.50 Hourly Job Category Hourly Description The 2nd shift Machine Operator will be responsible for performing various tasks to set up, operate, monitor, troubleshoot and perform preventative maintenance on assigned machines. The Machine Operator will also be responsible for inspecting parts to specifications and making adjustments/changes as necessary to maintain quality specifications. Machine operators will learn to operate multiple machines across multiple departments to support production when needed. Hours are Monday through Thursday 3:15pm - 1:45am $2/hr. premium for 2nd shift. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-speed environment, follow standardized work and adhere to safe work practices in a continuous improvement environment.
Perform necessary pre-operation activities to ensure proper equipment startup and operation on multiple pieces of equipment.
Operate/monitor multiple pieces of equipment during operation to ensure quality production and minimal unplanned stops.
Communicate with team members and support teams to ensure continuous production of the correct product at high quality levels with minimal wasted time and materials.
Housekeeping and sanitation
Must be able to cross train as needed.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED preferred. 1 to 2 years of related experience and/or training.
Must have mechanical aptitude and demonstrate abilities. Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Strong Manufacturing experience a must, preferably in the food/beverage industry.
Must be able to stand, walk, push or pull for a majority of the entire shift. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally including overhead.
Must be able to work in a wet environment. Some exposure to cleaning chemicals.
Must be willing/able to work mandatory overtime on weekends if needed.
Be able to effectively work in a team environment.
