Haverland Carter Lifestyle group is now an affiliate of Pacific Retirement Services.

La Vida Llenna is seeking their next Executive Director to lead our community!

You will direct and coordinate the activities of the La Vida Llenna toward the achievement of established and strategic objectives. You will be accountable for the operation of the Community, providing operational guidance to the department directors in charge of operational functions, and analyzing and appraising the effectiveness of its operation.

You will provide the leadership necessary to fulfill the vision, mission and core values of Haverland Carter Lifestyle Group (Pacific Retirement Services) and the community. You will demonstrate a commitment to our core values, using them as a guide in decision making, daily behaviors and creating the culture of the organization. You will provide ongoing supervision, mentoring and support for all employees and direct oversight for the management team.

How you’ll do it:

  • Internal Operations and Residents Services:
  • Direct and coordinate the development and implementation of departmental programs through appropriate supervision. Develop and implement defined programs of internal communication. Monitor and evaluate all programs’ effectiveness.
  • Be strategic and forward thinking when analyzing/developing the operational direction of the community.
  • Look for creative and innovative solutions, best practices that can be supported by PRS and assist the community and affiliated/managed organizations.
  • · Participate in and supervise the development of community policies and related procedures.
  • · Conduct or arrange for staff meetings as appropriate to facilitate good communication flow and problem identification.
  • · Appoint, monitor, and participate in professional and other committees as necessary.
  • · Ensure staffing adequacy and monitor personnel placement. Monitor and evaluate staff and consultant performance. Provide for staff educational opportunities, orientation, and ongoing in-service.
  • · Uphold the philosophies and objectives of PRS, the community Board of Directors, and Foundation.
  • · Display at all times a caring and professional attitude toward employees and residents.
  • · Ensure overall employee and resident satisfaction.
  • · Monitor programs of health and safety for residents and employees. Ensure the overall delivery of quality health care to the residents. Design and implement mechanisms to protect patient rights and enforce such mechanisms.

Financial Management:

  • Achieve revenue, expense, and operating margin targets.
  • Monitor and support the sales and marketing efforts to achieve stabile occupancy levels at all levels of care.
  • Participate in preparing, presenting and implementing effective operating budgets for the organization under the supervision and approval of your supervisor and appropriate PRS executives. Assist and advise in necessary audits and accounting functions.
  • Assist in providing acceptable financial reporting systems to accurately portray the economic position of the Community and to serve as a management tool.
  • Generally assist in controlling fiscal programs, ensuring a solid financial position.
  • Develop programs to meet the changing health care needs of the Community population.
  • Industry and Community Relations:
  • Participate in local community activities and organizations as appropriate.
  • Maintain professional association affiliations and participate within association programs.
  • Develop and implement communication processes to disseminate and obtain information throughout the local, professional, and industry communities.
  • Respond to local community concerns and input, advising your supervisor and appropriate PRS executives when appropriate.

Legal Conformity and Governmental Compliance:

  • Develop, implement and monitor programs to ensure compliance with all governmental operating guidelines.
  • Obtain and keep current all necessary licenses, permits, and certificates as required.
  • Ensure that all Community policies, procedures, and actions do not contradict operating regulations and federal, state or local laws.
  • Participate in and respond to all governmental surveys and inspections.

Reporting and Research:

  • Undertake research tasks to provide data when necessary.
  • Report to supervisor and appropriate PRS executives all areas of concern as appropriate and maintain open communication lines.

Corporate Operations:

  • Advise and assist affiliated/managed organizations in regard to operational departments as assigned by PRS.
  • Assist the corporate risk manager in planning, designing and monitoring a system-wide risk management program.

About you:

  • Valid Nursing Home Administrator (LNHA) license is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business operations, healthcare administration or a related field.
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in retirement/senior living, healthcare operations, program development, financial management, compliance or a related field.
  • Prior supervisory experience in a similar setting including budgeting, operations and program development, performance management, discipline and management of staff. Customer service, team building and leadership skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and insurable by the designated carrier.
