What to Expect:
Masters advanced necropsy/histology duties and performs multiple specialized technical procedures along with basic duties of necropsy/DART and histology with proficiency
Performs more complex and specialize procedures in competent and professional manner
Interprets and leads complex study protocols and designs
Uses applicable anatomic terms and scientific language routinely
Performs various methods of euthanasia on multiple species according to USDA regulations (if applicable)
Initiates quality control actions and assures correction of errors (incl. documentation)
Actively promotes and demonstrates high quality and performance standards
Mentors and instructs less experienced staff in complex and specialized procedures
Develops new technical procedures or optimizes existing processes in various areas as needed
Participates in monitoring and tracking resources (e.g., equipment, rooms, study supplies)
Drives client expectations by rallying self and others to meet timelines
Utilizes computer programs (forms and procedure generation) and systems (data capture)
Demonstrates a high degree of adaptability, initiative, and productivity in completion of broad range of routine and non-routine procedures
Recognizes changing situations and priorities to rapidly adapt strategies
Initiates and leads Process Excellence and method development projects
Demonstrates the ability to recognize and resolve compliance issues or procedural deficiencies
May serve as a study lead on all study types and complex study designs
Reports all animal care concerns and becomes involved in the resolution and appropriate corrective action, when necessary
Promotes and maintains a safe and clean work environment
Maintains client confidentiality at all times
Performs other duties as assigned

Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Life Sciences, or Associate Degree in Life Sciences, Histology, Laboratory Animal Technology or Veterinary Technology; experience may substitute for education.
