Labor Mobility Partnerships is Hiring a Remote Senior Associate, Latin America & Caribbean (LAC)- Remote

Company Description

Labor Mobility Partnerships (LaMP) works to develop large-scale, long-term solutions for workers to access quality jobs across borders. Our vision is a world in which the global poor have exponentially greater opportunity for economic advancement. To get there, our goal is to dramatically increase the scale and quality of labor mobility programs globally.

Some context: OECD countries are rapidly aging, facing a gap of 383 million workers by 2050 to maintain their current economic structure. Meanwhile, workers in developing countries need jobs, and those who manage to secure work in OECD countries can expect to increase their income by 6 to 15 times. Improving labor mobility systems globally will benefit all actors involved — for the worker who gains quality employment and dramatically improves their income, for the receiving country which receives needed workers, and for the sending country which receives remittances and needed employment opportunities.

As an elite and dynamic start-up, LaMP is focused on designing and implementing proof-of-concept projects that demonstrate the feasibility and impact potential of large-scale quality labor mobility pathways, providing technical assistance and tools for labor mobility practitioners, developing evidence for policy influence, and building a global coalition of actors committed to scaling quality labor mobility.

Our international team stretches across multiple continents and brings a rich diversity of experiences and backgrounds to the organization.

Job Description

ROLE OVERVIEW

LaMP seeks an adaptive, motivated, creative Senior Associate to take on significant ownership in delivering and expanding on our portfolio of work in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC). The Senior Associate will help LaMP solidify and expand our presence and activities in LAC by:

  1. playing a key role in the implementation and execution of LaMP’s current portfolio of proof-of-concept projects in the region,
  2. contributing to the discovery and design of new innovative labor mobility proof-of-concept projects, including efforts to fund these projects (i.e. scoping and applying to funding opportunities),
  3. cultivating LaMP’s coalitions & networks, knowledge products, and visibility in the region to amplify our message, elevate our profile, and deepen our regional expertise.

The Senior Associate role will evolve over time.
