Position Summary: To begin learning Laclede standards of quality for product produced at Laclede. This is an introductory training position where you will begin learning operations of one of the Proof Testers.

Focus: Proof Test Operator

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Learns and stays alert to the safety aspects within your work area as well as various safety concerns throughout the Form & Weld Department.
• Learn and stay conscientious to quality aspects of the product.
• Learn about all pertinent paperwork and checks to be performed in your work area.
• Begin learning to operate one of the Proof Testers
• Begin learning to read and understand the daily production sheet.
• Begin learning to read and understand a Job Traveler.
• Begin learning to select product for proof testing based on the daily production sheet and the Job Traveler.
• Begin learning to setup and adjust one of the Proof Testers for production based on the daily production sheet, and Job Traveler.
• Learn to proof test while maintaining pull tolerances according to product specifications and inspect product for quality issues.
• Learn to perform QC tests and measure proof tested product in accordance with ISO standards.
• Maintain cleanliness of machines and housekeeping of work area.

Education:

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience

Required Qualifications:

• Mechanical skills or demonstrated ability to learn mechanical skills, ideally within a manufacturing environment.
• Must be able to use or learn to use measuring instruments such as calipers and rulers.
• Must be able to use hand and power tools
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment

Physical Demands/Work Environment:

• Must be able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach overhead, or crawl
• Must be able to lift, pull, or push 50lbs, at times may be asked to lift more
• Environment is non-climate controlled
• Production floor is typically loud
• Must wear all required PPE
