Key responsibilities for this position include:

* Champion safety and reinforce the safety of other employees on shift including driving housekeeping improvements by identifying issues and problems, taking corrective action and monitoring the corrective action

* Plan and schedule the department's work utilizing employees, equipment and materials in order to ensure a clean and sanitary plant.

* Perform daily assignments including filling vacancies and assigning overtime in order to adhere to production schedules. This will require position to relieve and fill-in for Sanitation personnel as needed (qualifications required).

* Lead by example in establishing high expectations for self and team members, both within and outside of sanitation department.

* Assign employees to jobs and coach them in the proper procedures that will ensure quality, safety and efficiency. Ensure team members are properly trained via JSM process. Update JSMs annually.

* Work cooperatively with other department areas in a team environment to help drive plant and department initiatives, and problem resolution on shift. Align QCDSM (Quality, Cost, Delivery, Safety, Morale) metrics with plant priorities and drive improvement.

* Ensure compliance with all established employee policies and regulatory requirements.

* Maintain accurate documentation & records in accordance with Lactalis Heritage Dairy policy and state/federal regulations.

* Purchase sanitation supplies and chemicals and maintain an accurate inventory of supplies in accordance with Lactalis Heritage Dairy procedures.

* Work closely with team members to ensure that the plant is properly cleaned. Measure the effectiveness of cleaning by evaluation using physical inspections, microbiological analyses, and documentation of cleaning parameters to ensure that food processing takes place in a clean and sanitary environment.

* Develop a working knowledge of safety & sanitary equipment design practices and standards.

* Facilitate daily QCDSM meetings and other meetings/discussions as assigned.

* Maintain effective use of all current and future systems in daily use (MES, Coders, Check weighers, etc..)

* Produce a safe, quality product and maintain a clean work environment by complying with all state, Lactalis Heritage Dairy, GMP policies and regulations.

* Perform assignments in a safe and environmentally responsible manner (i.e. Minimize impact on the environment). Support and participate in plant safety and environmental initiatives to reduce loss and promote sustainability.

* Achieve Greenbelt certification, or equivalent, within required time-frame and maintain certification through successful completion of required project completion.

* Perform all other duties as assigned by supervision.

Requirements

Qualified applicants will contribute the following:

* Manufacturing experience and working knowledge of sanitation systems is required, with the technical ability to comprehend, interpret and analyze basic manufacturing and sanitation data. Experience with preparing flow charts, statistical charts/graphs and reports.

* Must be willing to qualify on all sanitation jobs, including training on different shifts and days.

* Must be self-directed with strong organizational and administrative skills. Experience with personal computing (i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint) and working familiarity with document control systems, training databases is a plus.

* Must have the ability to prioritize, coordinate, and implement multiple tasks as well as plan and execute against specific quality objectives.

* Must be a successful change agent and team player with an aggressive solution-oriented track record. Possess proven communication (verbal and written) skills; able to successfully interact with plant personnel at all levels. Possess strong motivational skills, presentation and customer service attitude to be able to promote and maintain awareness of Safety, GMPS, Housekeeping and Food Safety throughout the plant.

* Must be willing to travel to off-site meetings and training sessions.
