From your PASSION to ours

The Production Supervisor assists the department manager to enhance the technical and financial performance of the cheese production department.

The Production Supervisor will lead their team to meet the required production in terms of quantity, cost, deadlines and quality to ensure a secure manufacturing environment.

Bilingual (English / Spanish) a plus. Weekends are required.

From your EXPERTISE to ours

Key responsibilities for this position include :

• Supervise and organize the work of the production team on designated shift
• Supervise team : integrate, train, appraise, discipline and ensure development
• Lead team : delegate, instill a sense of responsibility, set targets, communicate instructions, control, listen
• Gauge training needs and participate in proposing training timelines
• Keep line management informed
• Apply well-defined standards (costs, budgets)
• Record, analyze and evaluate production data and determine the negative or positive net effect
• Lead and control various production parameters and implement corrective actions
• Propose technical and organizational improvements to line management
• Be involved in trials (machines, products, processes etc.)
• Participate in analyzing occupational hazards
• Apply and enforce all Good Manufacturing Practices
• Follow food safety laws, rules and regulations
• Key contributor to the maintenance of the FSSC22000 system
• Work closely with Quality to ensure the quality and specifications of product are continually being met
• Comply with all Lactalis Policies and Procedures

Requirements

Qualified applicants will contribute the following :

Education / Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Diary Science / Chemistry or science related field preferred
• 2 Years experience in cheese production and / or food industry
• 2 Years experience in a management / supervisory role
• Stable and dependable work history is required

License :

Must possess a Wisconsin Cheesemaker’s License or ability to obtain oneThe ideal candidate will be proactive and dynamic, flexible and receptive to new ideas, down to earth and pragmatic, analytical and attentive to detail.

He or she will also be capable of working independently in adherence to regulations, of managing stress and remaining calm under pressure, and be able to demonstrate an inquiring mind and well-developed observational skills.

Will demonstrate a sense of responsibility and high professional standards, honesty and integrity, and objectivity. Possess values of ambition and engagement, with simplicity.
