Job Description Job Description Worksite : On-site Position : Full-Time Location : Various locations within the United States, Puerto Rico, and other US territories. Duties : Provide Nurse Intervention Services, including assessing the Injured Worker’s (IW) current medical status, anticipated duration of disability, and treatment plans. Work with medical providers to obtain appropriate treatment plans and coordinate recommended medical care. Assist providers and IWs in requesting authorization for medical services. Collaborate with employing agencies to identify light duty work accommodations and coordinate the return to work. Prepare cases for a Second Opinion medical examination, including file reviews and preparation of Statements of Accepted Facts (SOAF). Communicate promptly with the Government on case milestones and activities. Requirements : Hold a current, active unrestricted license to practice nursing within the United States, Puerto Rico, and other US territories. Have a minimum of two (2) years adult medical/surgical nursing experience and a minimum of two (2) years case management experience in the workers’ compensation arena OR, Have a minimum of one (1) year of adult medical/surgical nursing experience and three (3) years of case management experience in the workers’ compensation arena. Registered Nurse (RN) license. Experience in case management and coordination of medical care. Knowledge of the OWCP/FECA program preferred. Preferred Qualifications : Recent experience with the FECA nurse intervention program (within the last 5 years, with good performance and no disciplinary actions). Specialized certification in one of the following areas: Occupational Health (COHN), Case Management (CCM), Insurance Rehabilitation (CIRS/CRRN), Disability Management (CDMS), and/or Nurse Case Manager Board Certified (ANCC/ANA).
