LAFCU is Hiring an Accounts Payable Specialist Near Lansing, MI
Here at LAFCU we are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all payments in a timely manner, ensuring accuracy, and maintaining vendor relationships.
Duties:
- Receive, process, and verify invoices. Collect bills for all locations and follows department procedures accordingly.
- Manage vendor relationships (negotiate payment terms, resolve disputes, ensure timely payments)
- Performs supporting administrative tasks within the accounting department including processing mail, posting accounting entries, and assisting others within the department as needed.
- Authorize and schedule payments to vendors.
- Assists with balancing general ledger and sending VISA statements as needed.
- Performs other job related duties as assigned.
- Work independently and collaboratively
Requirements
Education
- A high school education or GED.
- Some college courses preferred.
- Extensive personal contact with others, often of a personal or sensitive nature.
- Motivating, influencing, and/or training others is key at this level.
- Outside contacts are important; fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) is necessary and often requires the ability to influence and/or sell ideas or services.
- Demonstrates carefulness about detail and thoroughness in completing work tasks.
- Highly organized, pays attention to detail, able to pivot and prioritize tasks.
- Sitting, reaching, reading, and speaking in a normal office setting.
- Friendly, fast-paced, deadline-driven.
