The Surgical Intensive Care Unit is a 24-bed high acuity unit with clinical specialties in General Surgery, Trauma, Transplant, and Cardiothoracic Surgery. As a level one traumacenter, we work closely with our multidisciplinary teams to provide high quality, patient centered care. In addition, this unit sees a wide variety of acutely ill patients who may requireadditionalacute therapies. Our nurses are experts in caring for these patient populations and are continuously enhancing their knowledge to ensure we are up to date with the latest practices and technologies.We, as members of this team, are committed to the delivery of safe, high-quality care to our patients and their families.

Lahey Hospital & Medical Center utilizes EPIC for computerized charting and medication administration. Computerized self-scheduling is available along with every third weekend rotation.
Qualifications
BSN preferred
BLS required ACLS certification preferred
At least 1 year of previous of Nursing experience in acute care or sub-acute strongly preferre
Critical Care and Telemetry experience preferred
Massachusetts registered Nurse license required.
Demonstrate critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills, ability to read/comprehend written instructions, ability to follow verbal instructions, PC skills
Lifting 75 lbs. maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 lbs
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Graduate of a state approved and/or accredited School of Nursing
Licensure, Certification, Registration:
Current license to practice professional nursing from the Massachusetts Board of Registration
BLS certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
