SDWAN Network Engineer

Location: Schenectady NY, USA (Onsite)

IP Network Engineer Responsibilities

• Manage the implementation of Internet Only sites using Meraki network hardware (routers, switches, wireless APs).
• Assist site personnel with reconfiguring printers, Teams units, and other specialty devices to work in the new network IP space.
• Support local depot/warehouse administration (inventory, packaging, shipping).
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance remotely to field technicians and site personnel during the installation and configuration of Meraki SD-WAN devices at customer sites
• Assist in Configuration, Deployment, and testing of Meraki SD-WAN solutions, including MX security appliances, MS switches, and MR wireless access points, ensuring adherence to best practices and security standards.
• Follow existing MOP/SOP and maintain detailed documentation of network configurations, installation procedures, troubleshooting steps, and best practices related to Meraki SD-WAN solutions. Ensure documentation is up-to-date and accessible to relevant stakeholders.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including network engineers, IT operations, and project managers, to coordinate site installations, troubleshoot complex issues, and implement solutions that meet business requirements.

Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in network engineering, with a focus on SD-WAN technologies.

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.

• In-depth knowledge of Cisco Meraki SD-WAN solutions, including MX security appliances, MS switches, and MR wireless access points.

• Hands-on experience with Meraki dashboard configuration, troubleshooting, and monitoring.

• Strong understanding of networking protocols and technologies, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF).

• Excellent communication skills and ability to effectively collaborate with remote teams and stakeholders.

• Certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Cisco Meraki certifications are a plus.
