Lake Charles Memorial Health System is Hiring a Clinical Exercise Physiologist Part-time Near Charles, LA
- Plans and implements cardiac education for all assigned patients as ordered by the physician both pre and post procedure.
- Writes and calculates exercise prescriptions and plans appropriate exercise care for all assigned patients as ordered by the physician both pre and post procedure.
- In collaboration with nursing, effectively assesses, plans and implements, and evaluates the education and exercise plan of care for both inpatients and outpatients.
- Plans and presents appropriate educational offerings in the department as well as at community functions and health fairs.
- Effectively collaborates and communicates with a multidisciplinary team including dietitians, pharmacists, physical therapists, social workers, case management and diabetes education.
- Maintains and cleans exercise equipment in an effective manner after patient use.
Education And Work Experience
- Post graduate degree in Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology
- If possible, minimum of 1 year clinical experience in the field of Clinical Exercise Physiology/Cardiology/Cardiac Rehab
- CPR and ACLS certification required.
- License from Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners for CEP.
- Voluntary member of AACVPR, and pass the CCRP certification after one year.
- Competent in computer skills/ exercise equipment.
- Ability to read, write and speak intelligible English; Ability to communicate with patients, family, peers and medical personnel; Basic math skills.
- Requires emotional stability and resilience; Must be adaptable to change, be decisive, and demonstrates foresight; Exhibits organizational and leadership ability.
- Work required days: Monday-Friday, rotating weekends, and holidays depending on the needs of the unit/department/service.
- Requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to deal with stressful situations and conflict resolution..
