The Lake Country School District in Hartland, WI is looking to fill the District Secretary position. This is a full-time, year-round role for a candidate who demonstrates team-oriented leadership skills, a collaborative demeanor, and the ability to facilitate a cooperative environment. The District Secretary will be responsible for fostering collaboration among the Board of Education, administration, staff, parents, and students. Ideal candidates should exhibit behavior that promotes high staff morale and strong District-community relations. They should be able to communicate effectively and in a timely manner, use data to make sound administrative decisions and demonstrate good leadership skills.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• State Reporting including WISEid, WISEstaff, WISEdata, Civil Rights Report, Pupil Non-discrimination Report, 3rd Friday in September, 2nd Friday in January.
• Utilizes OPAL, and performs tasks within the open enrollment program including applications, bus contracts, and tours.
• Serves as Acting District Elections Clerk including preparing candidate information, election canvassing, certification of election results, etc.
• Prepares Board materials including legal notices, agendas and packets, minutes, policy updates, communications, and quorum notices as directed by the District Administrator.
• Attends board meetings and completes duties as delegated.
• Maintains the master school calendar and sends out weekly staff updates.
• Designs, creates, and publishes the bi-monthly school newsletter.
• Updates the school district website, promotes the district through social media, and monitors.
• Submits testing roster for MAP testing in the fall and spring, and loads test scores into Skyward (ACT Aspire, MAP, Forward) with assistance from other office staff.
• Maintains student activities in Skyward. Populates and monitors student fees; sends out monthly statements.
• Sets up online registration each school year and updates district forms and communications.
• Publishes yearly information regarding free/reduced lunch.
• Updates and utilizes the Raptor check-in system for use by the front office.
• Maintains the Parent/Student Handbook and Employee Guidebook.
• Maintains the Crisis Response Plan including building maps, tornado shelters, and fire exits.
• Covers the front office when needed.
• Sends out information, parent communications, and emergency closing announcements via the Skylert system.
• Maintains student discipline records including demerits and suspensions. Assist the Administrator with necessary letters to parents.
• Assists in coordinating the staff returning for the school year including the Welcome Back packet.
• Coordinates support staff recruiting, interviewing, and hiring processes, followed by the evaluation process.
• Post jobs for professional staff on WECAN; distribute information to staff and any interested candidate.
• Verifies licensing for teachers and special education aides.
• Maintains staff information in Skyward.
• Assists in all other duties as assigned.
