The Lake County Treasurer's Office is accepting applications for:

Deputy Treasurer

QUALIFICATIONS: Two-year Accounting Degree is preferred, or three years equivalent experience in accounting. County government accounting and financial investing experience is a plus. Must have accurate math and cash handling skills, be able to manage time with minimal direction, work efficiently and quickly under stressful conditions, provide and understand how to carry out oral and written instructions, provide excellent customer service to Elected Officials, Department Heads, employees and the public.

DUTIES: Under the general direction of the County Treasurer, must be able to supervise all aspects of the Treasurer's Office. Solves complex accounting issues by applying the concepts of finance, public fund investment, and cash management to departmental tasks and policies. Directs procurement and investment of funds. Assist with tax settlements. Prepares important and intricate reports. Handles complicated and controversial public complaints. Perform reconciliation of statements and reports. Work closely with investments. Perform balancing, banking, and receipting of funds accurately. Assist staff in three offices: the Treasurer's Office, Tax Office, and the Motor Vehicle office.

HOURS/DAYS: Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

WAGE: $20.00 hourly, depending on experience.
