Lake County is Hiring an Insurance Navigator Near Belvidere, IL

The Insurance Navigator is trained and licensed to help consumers look for and understand health coverage options through the Health Insurance Marketplace. This position will assist consumers in completing eligibility, enrollment and appeal applications as well as help clients understand how to use their insurance coverage.
Scheduled Hours: 37.5 hours a week
  • Provide outstanding customer service by providing consumers with friendly and impartial information and assistance that meets their needs, whether face to face or over the telephone.
  • Provide fair, accurate and impartial information to consumers regardless of your own opinions or preferences.
  • Identify consumers' needs when talking about Qualified Health Plans (QHPs), other health coverage that might be available to them through the Marketplace, or programs that will help lower their health coverage costs.
  • Assisting consumers in a culturally-sensitive manner, using language translation services as appropriate and otherwise meeting Culturally and Linguistically Appropriate Services (CLAS) and disability access standards.
  • Document consumer appointments and encounter details in the LCHD Electronic Health Record system per current processes, procedures and guidance from the supervisor.
  • Conduct In-Reach to uninsured LCHD patients as per current supervisor guidance, processes and procedures.
  • Conduct application follow-up as appropriate as per current supervisor guidance, processes and procedures.
  • Participates in quality improvement activities to assess, monitor and improve program services.
  • Maintains compliance with federal and state laws and regulations to promote a culture committed to fairness, respect, equal treatment, open and honest communication, and ethical and moral conduct.
  • Assist in bilingual translation as appropriate.
  • Requires High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of one-year general office experience preferred.
  • Basic user knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.)
  • Experience assisting clients with information/applications highly preferred.
