A Confidential West Michigan Manufacturer is seeking their next Director of Program Management. This opportunity will report directly to the head of the company and lead a team of 2 to 3 Program Managers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in leading multi-million dollar programs and ability to develop and lead program management team through diverse and complex projects.
Candidates must have experience with complex projects that have been successfully delivered on time and within budget. This role requires excellent leadership skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to work cross-functionally with various teams, vendors, and customers. Lastly candidates for this opportunity must have or be able to quickly procure a US Passport, as global travel is required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Program Management team, including setting the vision and strategy for program management practices.
- Develop and implement program management frameworks, methodologies, and best practices to ensure consistent project delivery.
- Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of all major programs and projects, ensuring alignment with business goals and objectives.
- Collaborate with leadership team to prioritize initiatives, allocate resources, and manage program budgets.
- Ensure effective communication and stakeholder engagement throughout the program lifecycle.
- Identify and mitigate risks and issues impacting program success.
- Mentor and develop program managers and project teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
- Monitor program performance using appropriate systems, tools, and techniques to ensure projects meet organizational quality standards and customer expectations.
- Drive operational excellence and efficiency across all program management activities.
To be successful in this role you have:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field (MBA preferred).
- 10 years of experience in manufacturing, stamping, tool & die, or related auto industry
- 5 years of experience in program management, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Proven experience managing large-scale, complex projects and programs from inception to completion.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies
- Excellent leadership, communication, and customer relations skills.
- Ability to think strategically and communicate complex information clearly to non-technical audience.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make data-driven decisions.
- PMP or similar certification (preferred).
