    Lake Forest High School is seeking a full-time 12 month, 8 hour/day Technology Support Specialist.
    Description: The Technology Support Specialist is integral in maintaining the performance and usability of building technology and AV systems; assisting the Network Administrator in troubleshooting, maintaining hardware and software, inventory, and related tasks. There is considerable contact with staff and students. The Technology Support Specialist will provide support to staff and students and provide maintenance to computer hardware and software, network infrastructure, classroom technology and other technology systems. Organizational skills, initiative, independent discernment, as well as courtesy and tact are essential to this position as well as continually learn new technologies, products and applications.
    Starting Rate: $27.69/hr
    Essential Functions:
    • Troubleshoots, maintains, and repairs computer systems, mobile devices and peripherals
    • Troubleshoots, maintains, and repairs, and supports building printer fleet
    • Configures computers for end-users
    • Supports the configuration of computer and server operating systems
    • Configures and maintains student and staff computer labs
    • Supports the integration of computers and mobile devices within the buildings
    • Troubleshoots, maintains, and repairs classroom environments
    • Performs Audio Visual setups and maintenance
    • Maintains an accurate inventory of district owned equipment
    • Performs various other duties as assigned
    • Continues job performance improvement by updating knowledge and skills in the use of technology as well as participating in appropriate professional growth activities
    • Adheres to Board of Education policies and procedures
    Qualifications:
    Education, Experience, and Licensure
    • A high school diploma or equivalent
    • 1-3 years of experience in technology support
    • Experience with networking - preferred
    Competencies
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Strong interpersonal skills and positive problem solving attitude
    • Comfortable and pleasant demeanor in busy environments
    • Strong technical understanding of various hardware, software and networking systems
    • Customer Service focus
    • Ability to:

      • work with speed, attention to detail, consistency, and organization
      • work harmoniously, cooperatively, and effectively with all stakeholders
      • meet deadlines
      • troubleshoot technology issues
      • read and understand technical materials

    Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, reach, grasp, feel, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, push, pull, and lift. Repetitive motions are required. The employee must lift and/or move up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and up to 10 pounds of force constantly. Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
    Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly subject to inside and outside environmental conditions and is subject to loud noises, high heat, cold, humidity, fumes, odors, dust, and hazards associated with moving mechanical parts and electrical current.
