Lake Mills Police Department is Hiring a Police Officer Near Mills, IA

The City of Lake Mills, Iowa is seeking applicants for the position of Police Officer. Iowa Law Enforcement Academy (ILEA) preferred but not required. We offer a competitive salary and excellent benefits.

Non-certified applicants must pass the POST and ILEA Physical Agility Tests to be considered for an interview. ILEA certified Officers will not be required to take the POST or Physical Agility Tests. Transfer of POST and MMPI scores will be accepted if done within the last year.

Entry level non-certified applicants --$50,000.00 per year.

Certified applicants --$65,000.00 per year (Depending upon qualifications).

Responsibilities
- Enforce laws and regulations to maintain public safety and order.
- Conduct patrols to monitor and prevent criminal activities.
- Respond to emergency calls and provide assistance as needed.
- Write detailed reports documenting incidents and actions taken.
- Utilize conflict management skills to de-escalate tense situations.
- Collaborate with team members and other agencies to investigate crimes effectively.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
