Lake Region Healthcare is Hiring a Financial Analyst Near Fergus Falls, MN

The Financial Analyst is responsible for assisting the management team in preparing analyses and providing analytical support. Responsibilities include retrieving, maintaining, analyzing, and reporting data from various Lake Region Healthcare systems, in addition to explaining financial and analytical data to the appropriate management team. This position requires expertise with spreadsheets and complex databases. Work involves a high degree of initiative, independent judgment, ability to work with people across several functions, and excellent communication skills. This position reports directly to the Controller.

Job duties include:

  • Assists department leaders on monthly variances from budget/actual.
  • Complete applicable periodic reporting including monthly variance analysis.
  • Prepare reporting requirements as assigned for debt covenants.
  • Assist in annual budget and periodic forecasting of financial data.
  • Productivity reporting analysis.
  • Assist in preparing statement of operations and other monthly financial reports.
  • Compile financial summaries utilized at the Executive and Board level to guide decision-making.
  • Assists with external reporting requirements for 990s, MHA HAR, and Medicare Cost Report.
  • Assist in annual audit preparation.
  • Other duties/projects as assigned.

Requirements are representative of minimum levels of knowledge, skills and/or abilities.

  • To perform this job satisfactorily requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance and 3 years of work-related experience is preferred.
  • Demonstrate technical and professional skills in finance/accounting and information technology skills. Requires understanding of Microsoft Excel including experience with pivot tables, ability to operate hospital based EMR systems, Axiom financial/budgeting software, Microsoft Dynamics GP, and other applicable systems.
  • Must possess excellent analytical and reasoning ability, project management skills, and ability to effectively prioritize tasks. This position also requires strong initiative and commitment to learning, high level of interpersonal/communication skills both written and verbal, and ability to problem solve.
  • Successful completion of the pre-employment health screening required.
