SUMMARY
The Die Setter is responsible to pull, set molds and change material in a timely manner, coordinating efforts with shift supervisors, process technicians and molding scheduler or manager.
This position is on 2nd Shift. Hours are 2:50pm - 11:00pm

SUMMARY
The Die Setter is responsible to pull, set molds and change material in a timely manner, coordinating efforts with shift supervisors, process technicians and molding scheduler or manager.
This position is on 2nd Shift. Hours are 2:50pm - 11:00pm
JOB DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Complete tool changes as scheduled.
- Complete Mold Set Up Checklist to insure mold change is accurate and complete.
- Insure correct material is supplied to press
- Empty grinders and properly mix regrind with virgin material to insure regrind is used while maintaining part quality.
- Complete color changes as required.
- Assist supervisor with shift start up and troubleshooting problems throughout the shift.
- Assist in taking product to next operation after it has been signed off the quality.
- Assist in keeping the plant clean and orderly.
- Report any repairs needed to the supervisor or maintenance technician.
- Set up process parameters for technician, using process books.
- Clean press and area around press thoroughly after mold changes.
- Communicate concerns with molds or equipment to technician and/or supervisor.
- Communicate special instructions or concerns to die setters on other shifts.
- Transport molds to and from tool room.
- Give breaks to machine operators as time and scheduling allow.
- Always keep molding department clean.
- Operates and passes safety training for a crane.
- Obtain and Maintain a valid forklift license.
- Other duties and/or special projects as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and/or six months experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience operating a computer, machinery, tools, and industrial equipment and must have the ability to use hands to move, set up, adjust, assemble, control, test, operate, or feel objects, tools or controls and reach with hands and arms.
- Considerable knowledge of mold setups, molding machines, molding inspection, molded parts, auxiliary and secondary equipment, robotics
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
