Lakeland Regional Health is Hiring a Director - Physician Practice Op Primary Care and Peds - FHC Near Lakeland, FL

This is Full-Time Benefit Eligible position working 80 hours per biweekly pay period.
Shift: Monday - Friday
Location: 300 Parkview Place Lakeland, FL
Annual Salary: Min $108,305.60 Mid $135,387.20

Position Summary

Responsible for safe, quality and efficient patient care of the clinic, while collaborating to ensure effective and productive integration of the clinic within the organization. Working under the supervision of the Director of Clinical Services, provides leadership and guidance to assigned clinic(s). The administrator will have a thorough understanding of physician practice regulatory environment, financial billing systems and management care contracts

    • Standard Work: Director - Physician Practice Op Primary Care and Peds
    • Actively participates in team development, achieving dashboards, and in accomplishing department goals and objectives
    • Ensures the clinics provides services that meet patient needs and those patients with comparable needs receive the same standard of care, treatment and services in the clinic
    • Helps create and maintain a culture of safety and quality in the clinic. Works closely with Quality to ensure TJC readiness at all times. Ensure practice process improvement initiatives are in alignment with the organization's strategic objectives
    • Ensures the clinics has the appropriate staff to provide for safe, effective, quality care to patients
    • Ensures clinic staff complies with all laws and regulations. Regularly assesses the staff to ensure clinical competency compliance as well as performance to position requirements, using appropriate documentation and processes
    • Ensures the integration of the clinic's performance improvement activities within an organization-wide, integrated patient safety program. Monitors physician productivity, ensuring effective and objective methods are in place for timely reporting. Regularly provides updates regarding practice performance results, activities, plans and programs
    • Assist in the development of an annual operating budget and long-term capital expenditure plan for the clinics. Develop business plans, financial proformas and budgets as needed for new or proposed programs and services. Work collaboratively with finance to ensure effective revenue cycle activities
    • Ensures that care, treatment and services provided through contractual agreement are provided safely and effectively. Assist in negotiating managed care, physician and physician extender contracts
    • Manages human, material and financial resources so that department goals and objectives are achieved, including department specific and organizational dashboard measures and corporate priorities. Responsible for cost management through appropriate utilization and management of labor and supply utilization.

Competencies & Skills

Essential:

  • Excellent skills in communication and conflict resolution. Demonstrates tact, timeliness, coaching, accountability, commitment, leadership to achieve goals, ability to influence others and resource management
  • Proactive safe critical thinking skills and make appropriate judgements or decisions.
  • Navigate multiple computer software programs and applications that include, but are not limited to Microsoft Office, Allscripts and Cerner
  • Exceptional organizational, time management and follow up skills
Nonessential:
  • Experience in an ambulatory clinic setting
  • Previous managerial experience
  • Strong knowledge of medical coding, and authorization process.
Qualifications & Experience


Required:

MBA or educational equivalent

Ambulatory Practice management of 5 years or more

5 years of progressive leadership experience

Previous experience in developing and managing provider schedules, and patient appointment schedules

Experience with budget management

Microsoft Office Proficiency

Preferred:

Epic EMR Experience

Academic Practice Management

Working knowledge of Managed Care practice operations

Prior supervisory experience in an ambulatory setting
