In Raytheon’s GNC department, we design, integrate, and optimize guidance, navigation, state estimation, and control algorithms to meet mission objectives. We support new business initiatives and help develop & execute technology roadmaps. We are seeking a Senior GNC Engineer to perform in the role of *GNC Naval Power Trajectory Optimization Lead* for one of our Naval Shipboard Missiles Engineering Manufacturing and Development contracts. This role is required to be onsite in Tucson, AZ but enjoys a 9/80 work schedule (every other Friday off) and a highly collaborative team environment.
*What You Will Do * 

• You will be responsible for the development, integration, and test of the Trajectory Optimization and associated Guidance algorithms.
• You will define and implement system performance studies to develop enhanced capabilities.
• You will help the program mentor and train new engineers and execute efficiently and effectively.
• You will interface with software engineers for integration and testing of real-time operation of algorithms.
• You will present design details and analysis to program stakeholders and customers.
• *Qualifications You Must Have*

• Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of guidance, navigation and/or controls related engineering experience
• Experience with missile system performance analysis.
• Experience using six degree-of-freedom simulations.
• Experience with Matlab, C, C , and/or Object-Oriented design.
• Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
• *Qualifications We Prefer*

• Knowledge of Optimal Control theory.
• Experience in trajectory optimization using pseudospectral methods.
• Experience with software formal qualification test (FQT) data analysis to test algorithms performance against requirements.
• Experience using scripting languages (e.g., Perl, Python, Matlab),
• Experience integrating GNC algorithms for real-time operation.
• Experience supporting post flight test data analysis.

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
