Finance Manager Responsible for the assembly and maintenance of the financial and performance data management requires to make informed decisions regarding land acquisition, budgeting, development, amenity construction, and overall oversight of performance. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of and experience with land development budgeting and financials, and will be extremely proficient in Microsoft Excel. Responsibilities Coordinate with Project Managers to create and maintain detailed budget estimates for each community under development, update both the actuals to date and the projected future expenditures quarterly, and perform analysis for significant variances. Coordinate with Project Managers on the preparation of quarterly cash flow projections. Maintain the assumptions on which those projections are based for more efficient updating in future quarters. Coordinate with Purchasing to accurately track and invoice shared development costs in communities where we are working under shared-cost agreements with other developers. Maintain an accurate inventory of both present and future homesites in all communities, and prepare projections showing when new development tracts will be needed to meet the demands of homebuilding. Track the status of all outstanding surety bonds and letters of credit, and coordinate the renewals, reductions, and cancellations with Treasury. Assist the Division Controller in modeling and underwriting new land deals. Assist the Division Controller in modeling CDD debt for new communities. Track actual CDD requisitions and receipts vs. projections. Manage preparation of weekly land development reports including updating projected development schedules and showing variances from past reports. Assist in the Division’s quarterly forecasting process as it relates to homesite availability and activity. Create a “Dashboard” for each Community showing high-level critical information. Supervise and manage direct reports as may be assigned by Direct of Land Development as necessary. Qualifications Very strong MS Excel skills required. Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is strongly preferred. Minimum of 3 years general accounting or finance-related experience required. Land Development - related experience preferred. JD Edwards experience and Hyperion/Essbase preferred. Commitment to team environment. Detail oriented and organized in work. Strong ability to take individual initiative, and act and operate independently with minimal daily direction from manager to accomplish objectives. Confidentiality. Sound judgement and analytical skills. Good oral and written communication skills. Flexible to respond to and manage numerous tasks and special projects. Developing supervisory/managerial skills.
