Lamar Institute of Technology is Hiring a Program Enrollment Specialist - Technology Near Beaumont, TX

The Program Enrollment Specialist will be a part of the Department of Technology team and will report to the Chair of Technology. The Program Enrollment Specialist I is responsible for current/new program enrollment, retention, updating website content and coordinating with the marketing department. This is a non-exempt position.
DUTIESANDRESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Collaborate with Lamar Institute of Technology’s Instruction, Financial Services, and Workforce Development offices to ensure the Technology’s enrollment program needs are met.
  • Execute recruitment measures, via phone, face-to-face, and virtual ensuring that programs are participating, to aid in recruiting students.
  • Provide a high-touch experience with students, while encouraging the pursuit of their educational goals.
  • Serve as a program subject-matter-expert and point of contact for new program implementation.
  • Provide program information to students, faculty, staff, and community.
  • Advise/register Technology students regarding program planning, course selection, schedule changes, and transferability.
  • Serve as a liaison for Program Directors and Lead Faculty handling questions, issues and providing detailed information on requirements, processes and policies.
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the Technology department including but not limited to: clerical support, schedule building, F3.2s, and new-hire packets for adjuncts and student workers ensuring required supporting materials provided.
  • Create and maintain office forms and procedures to ensure that they are up-to-date.
  • Create documents and spreadsheets including but not limited to: validate and post classroom schedules, file, scan documents, and open incoming mail.
  • Make and maintain all requisitions and purchase orders for the fiscal year.
  • Coordinate and manage Perkins purchases, Unit Plans and Assessments for Technology programs.
  • Serve as liaison between the Technology department to update website with new course offerings and department enrollment initiatives.
  • Assist with training new hires on position duties and responsibilities.
  • Coordinate with IT to maintain all equipment in computer labs/classrooms and offices.
  • Coordinate with Custodial Staff/Facility Director.
  • Travel to schools and other locations for student recruitment and other program related activities
  • Other duties may be assigned to this position on a regular or occasional basis to respond to needs of the department and Institute.

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of the essential functions of this job, work is normally performed in a typical interior/office/classroom work environment with moderate noise. Some evening and weekends may be required. Some local travel will be required during the work day. Extended working hours will be required during registration periods.
Minimum Qualifications
MINIMUMQUALIFICATIONS:
  • Two (2) years of related experience.
  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Working knowledge of English, grammar, spelling, punctuation and business correspondence
  • Ability to perform with minimal supervision
Preferred Qualifications
PREFERREDREQUIREMENTS:
  • Associate degree in Office Technology or related field with two (2) years of related experience.
  • Experience with Banner Student Software.
  • Supervisory experience.
