LAMONS is Hiring a Quality Assurance & Inventory Control Specialist Near Baton Rouge, LA

Job Summary
The Quality Assurance & Inventory Control Specialist will assist in maintaining the quality of the facility, equipment, and products while maintaining control of product inventory accuracy for the Baton Rouge location. Completes scheduled visits to the New Orleans branch. Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Inspects products for conformity to customers' requests and to assure the product is manufactured in accordance with established procedures and specifications.
  • Responsible for branch Return Material Authorizations (RMA), Material Test Reports (MTR) and other documents.
  • Establishes and maintains testing procedures for assessing raw materials, in-process, and finished products.
  • Completes Nonconformance Reports (NCR).
  • Completes inspection of facilities to determine necessary maintenance.
  • Orders supplies and materials needed for repairs and maintenance of the facility or machinery.
  • Monitors inventory of materials and equipment and oversees regular maintenance vendors activities.
  • Responsible for cycle count accuracy and physical inventories accuracy.
  • May purchase or transfer inventory materials needed to complete customer orders, facility maintenance, and to maintain inventory levels.
  • Coordinates all the activities implied for inventory control, planning, and purchasing.
  • Research, report, and reconcile inventory discrepancies.
  • Conducts material transactions in system and update physical material and/or bin with updated information.
  • Records in Syteline all the consumptions of material in Work in Process (WIP) that does not automatically backflush.
  • Operates a variety of measuring and testing equipment to identify problems with material and/or production quality.
  • Completes and maintains equipment calibration.
  • Maintains familiarity of company's Quality Assurance Maintenance and communicates regularly with corporate counterparts.
  • Performs general facility repairs that do not require a specialized technician.
  • Schedules installations, repairs and/or maintenance that may require specialized 3rd party vendors.
  • Coordinates with contractors on routine maintenance for building systems.
  • Provides technical support in repairing and troubleshooting machinery and equipment.
  • Completes routine visits to the New Orleans branch to review inventory.
  • Completes visits as needed to the New Orleans branch to troubleshoot and repair machinery and equipment.
  • Inspects welding on hoses and gaskets and verifies proper documentation for jobs completed.
Job Specifications
Skills
  • Basic understanding of Materials Management Systems, i.e., MRP, MPS, Costed BOM's, Routers, Logistics, Warehousing, Distribution.
  • Extensive knowledge of operations and production management.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exhibits proficiency in reading tape measure, Pi tape, micrometers; operating metal hardness testers, heat-type allow separator, PMI gun.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
Education
  • Technical or related vocational school preferred.
Work Experience
  • 2 years' experience in quality assurance preferred.
  • 4 years' experience in a manufacturing environment required.
  • 2 years' experience in inventory control preferred.
  • 4 years' experience in industrial fabrication or similar experience preferred.
  • Forklift certified or experience driving a forklift required.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to access and navigate the production facility.
  • Must be able to lift 30 pounds at a time.
  • Ability to lift, climb, bend, stoop, push and pull.
  • Continuous standing and/or walking
  • Good eye/hand/foot coordination
  • Ability to work in cold, hot and/or dusty environment, with noisy conditions.
