Lamorinda Pediatric Medical Group, Inc. is Hiring a Front Office Medical Assistant Near Lafayette, CA

Front Office Certified Medical Assistant - Pediatric with heavy emphasis on customer service.

Lamorinda Pediatrics has been providing care to the infants, children, and teenagers in our area for over 40 years. The Lamorinda physicians and staff members provide premier quality, confidential care in a safe and friendly environment; the practice has been awarded "Best Pediatric Office" by Lamorinda Moms . The practice seeks an experienced front office medical assistant to join the organization.

The position is a full-time benefited position, five days a week.

This position requires a unique individual with a focus on pediatric "front office" duties .

Reporting directly to the practice manager, and working closely with the physicians, the Front Office Medical Assistant will be responsible for:

  • Checking patients in and out, greeting them warmly and being sensitive to their needs
  • Verifying demographics and insurance eligibility
  • Collecting co-pays and outstanding balances
  • Answering high volume phone calls in a professional manner, and triaging calls appropriately
  • Scheduling appointments
  • Sharing the duties of other members of the team as needed to ensure successful flow of patients, and superior patient care
  • Fulfilling requests for medical records, school and sports forms
  • Assisting with referral/authorization coordination
  • Use of EMR

Requirements:

  • The ideal candidate will have at least one year experience as a Front Office Medical Assistant in a privately held primary care physician office. Experience in the following a plus:
  • Pediatrics
  • Electronic Health Records
  • Outstanding organizational skills. Must be able to multi-task, handle a large volume of projects simultaneously, change focus frequently, and keep the clinical operations working smoothly.
  • Excellent interpersonal and human resources skills. Must be able to work directly with physicians, staff members and patients/ families .
  • Strong computer skills, including all MS Office applications, practice management systems, and the ability to learn web-based applications .
