We are looking for a forward-thinking, skilled HVAC Project Engineer/Estimator who has a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience working in the commercial, industrial, and/or institutional markets to join our growing team.

Candidates must have practical working experience in the HVAC mechanical equipment installation/construction industry and possess knowledge of HVAC installation procedures and blueprint interpretation. Candidates must have good attention to detail and take pride in a job well done.

Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, have excellent communication skills, and be able to work well with others. A bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, or equivalent is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities:

• Conceptual HVAC design with customers, architects, and engineers.
• Equipment selection recommendations for customers, architects, and engineers on various types of equipment and building types.
• HVAC load calculations.
• Ductwork, plumbing, and pipe layout and sizing.
• Miscellaneous design calculations. (Pump head loss, heat exchangers, steam traps, energy analysis, etc.)
• Field surveys and design data collection.
• Assists with miscellaneous work: -Provide Submittals -As-Built Drawings -Equipment Schedules -Update Details & Specifications
• Estimating design-build and plan and spec projects.
• Writing proposals for design-build and plan and spec projects.
• Assist project managers with: -Turnover Meetings -RFI’s -Equipment & Material Pricing -Purchase Orders -Managing Subcontractor -Attending Progress Meetings
• Work with Project Managers to plan the start of new projects, such as what is required for rentals, tools, labor, materials, equipment, manpower, and so forth.

Requirements:

• A minimum of 3-5 years of experience as an HVAC Estimator in a related field
• General knowledge of the estimating process.
• Strong understanding of the construction process in its entirety.
• Knowledge of HVAC systems, ductwork, piping, and controls.
• Proficient in computer work with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Blueprints and engineering specifications reading and interpretation.
• Ability to meet deadlines.
• Superior organizational and planning skills.
• Accurate record-keeping ability.
• Strong work ethic with a desire to learn.
• Exhibits high initiative and motivation level.
• An ability to communicate value-driven solutions.

• You will establish and maintain a positive relationship with customers, project managers, with architects, engineers, general contractors, building owners, sub-contractors, and vendors.
• You will work with our project manager to provide quote estimates for change orders and/or upgrades as needed.
• You will be expected to enforce safety to the highest standards continually.
• You will be expected to work as part of a team that is dedicated to delivering the highest standard of service to all its customers.
