Lancaster Technical Resources is Hiring a Project Manager Near Reno, NV

  • This is a Contract Position (One Year with Two, One Year Options)
  • Experience within High Voltage Electric Industry REQUIRED (This is NOT an IT position)

 Basic Purpose

Responsible for coordinating and managing complex multi-disciplinary utility transmission & distribution projects. Ensures project completion within the defined scope of work, including cost and schedule, by serving as the primary point of contact. Manages and coordinates the allocation of project resources and workflow.

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Manages, coordinates, and monitors multi-disciplinary utility transmission & distribution projects from initiation through delivery and closeout. Serves as a liaison between engineering, procurement, and operations business groups to meet project requirements and targets.

  • Ensures adherence to corporate guidelines for Project Management and Controls.
  • Leads project planning and the development.
  • Manage complex projects with multiple work streams, including contractors or remote project teams.
  • Develops and maintains a project plan, including cost estimates and project schedule.
  • Assembles and leads cross-functional project teams to ensure quality project deliverables.
  • Ensures that projects are completed on schedule, within budget and according to project plan.
  • Monitors project deliverables and progress through ongoing communication with all project members.
  • Communicates project status, issues, and risks to project stakeholders.

 Required Education and Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field from an accredited school
  • Five or more years of related experience in utility design and/or utility experience
  • Five or more years of project management experience.

Specialized Knowledge and Skills

Demonstrated knowledge of:

  • Utility engineering practices with transmission and substation design.
  • Thorough knowledge of company policies, rules, and regulations; construction methods; contract administration; equipment specifications; property rights; and local, state and federal permitting.
  • Advanced knowledge of Waterfall and Project Management Lifecycle (PMLC) methodologies.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent is highly recommended.
