Thanks!Job Title: Genetics & Bioinformatics ExpertLocation: Apopka, FL, 32703Duration: 12 Month ContractHours: Business Hours (Mon – Fri)Function Related Activities/Key Responsibilities
- Conduct field research experiments requiring fruit harvesting, extraction, and processing, as well as data collection, analysis, summary, interpretation, and communication.
- Support phenotypic selection of disease-tolerant citrus accessions.
- Work closely with university, government, and industry partners to develop & execute genomic selection techniques for citrus accessions.
- Conduct experiments (e.g. laboratory, research, or process) to deliver on ideation, innovation and business continuity initiatives by evaluating ingredients, materials, products, and processes.
- Disciplined in following safety and scientific techniques.
- Ability to follow standard laboratory practices regarding quality control, laboratory equipment use and maintenance and documentation procedures.
- Must possess the ability to recognize and protect proprietary information for us and our research partners.
- Must be willing to share ideas and differences of opinion with other scientists regarding project work.
- Ability to learn and apply project management principles in your everyday work.
- General knowledge of beverage ingredients including juices, flavors, and dry ingredients is helpful, but not required.
