LanceSoft Inc is Hiring a Medical Inpatient Coder Near Norwalk, CT

**100% REMOTE**

Job Title- Inpatient Medical Coder

Facility - Hartford Health 

Location - 32 Knight Street Norwalk, CT 06851 (REMOTE)

Shift - Shift: 8a-4:30p, Start time any where between 7am-8:30am 

Contract- 13 weeks (Potentially temp to perm hire)

Pay - $35/hr - $40/hr

Required Experience:

  • Four years or more of progressive on-the-job experience in an acute care hospital setting as an Inpatient coder.
  • Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) required and maintained thereafter.
  • In coding Medical/ Surgical charts including but not limited to spinal surgery, cardiology- TAVR, ECMOs, Impellas, Interim coding, and NICU newborn.
  • Knowledgeable of coding rules and requirements to include clinical classification systems (such as current versions of ICD-10 and PCS), complication and comorbidity Conditions/Major complication and comorbidity Conditions (CC/MCC), Medicare Severity Diagnosis Related group (MS-DRG) structure, and Present on Admission (POA) indicators.
  • Experience with querying physician’s/ when documentation/ Medical Records are unclear.
  • In coding Medical/ Surgical charts including but not limited to spinal surgery, cardiology- TAVR, ECMOs, Impellas, Interim coding, and NICU newborn.
  • Knowledgeable of coding rules and requirements to include clinical classification systems (such as current versions of ICD-10 and PCS), complication and comorbidity Conditions/Major complication and comorbidity Conditions (CC/MCC), Medicare Severity Diagnosis Related group (MS-DRG) structure, and Present on Admission (POA) indicators.
  • Experience with querying physician’s/ when documentation/ Medical Records.
  • Associate’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of: ICD-10-CM diagnostic and ICD-10-PCS procedure codes
  • UHDDS
  • Various DRG methodologies (MS-DRG, APR-DRG, Tricare, etc.)
  • IP Rehabilitation IRF-PAI coding requirement
  • Clinical information related to areas of responsibility 
  • Microsoft Office Products; Word, Excel
  • Encoder and/or CAC
