Duties:
Provide accurate and efficient material support for the Athens site, to include: material handling, receiving, delivery, storing, forklift operation, recyclable materials, waste handling, and inventory transacting.
Follow *** policies and procedures to correctly document and perform all material movements requested to include, receipt, delivery, disposal, storage, staging, transfer, using the Move Order System
Participate in cycle counts of physical inventory as scheduled to ensure a minimum 98% inventory accuracy is maintained for warehouse stores
Safely operate and perform daily inspections of Materials Handling Equipment
Communicate and coordinate as required with supervisor in carrying out day-to-day customer service responsibilities and responding to internal quality checks and audit findings
Be able to navigate successfully in the Oracle database system in performing material inventory queries and basic data entry adjustments to warehouse inventory, also able to use Intermec Barcode Scanners
Receive and perform inspection of incoming materials and equipment for shortage, overage, or
damage
Keep all assigned areas neat, organized, and clear of debris to ensure an orderly, safe, and clean working environment. Comply with 5S principles.
In addition to the above, other assigned duties & projects deemed appropriate within the position scope
Participate in training as provided in all applicable job areas
Skills:
Perform receipt, documentation and inspection of all incoming materials and equipment for shortage, overage, or damage
develop an understanding of shipping documents, transportation codes/markings,
follow all RMS policies and procedures,
coordinate with Quality Assurance Dept as required to ensure proper material handling and storage in compliance with regulatory guidelines;
coordinate closely with Procurement Department regarding shortages or overages in shipments, missing shipping documentation from vendors, returned materials,
any follow-up action as may be required.
Correctly document and perform movement of raw materials, supplies laboratory garments, small-package items, work-in-process biological materials, finished goods, waste, and recyclable materials to include, receipt, delivery, disposal, storage, staging, transfer, and return of material to vendor
1-2 years prior warehouse and forklift operator experience
Good basic math skills and the ability to accurately count and convert measurements and quantities;(e.g., items/case, cases/pallet)
Good communication skills (verbal and written)
Excellent people interactive skills with emphasis on supporting internal customers
Ability to use proper techniques to lift packages up to 50 pounds
Must work well in a team environment and adapt well to change
Must be able to shift priorities with ease and do well with multi-tasking
Essential computer skills include experience with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook) and familiarity with warehouse database systems similar to Oracle
Barcode operations experience preferred, but not required
