Land O’Lakes, Inc. is Hiring a Manufacturing Supervisor - 3rd Shift Near Kent, OH
Hours: 3rd shift (10PM-8AM), Monday - Friday, with flexibility of working other shifts as needed for business needs
Responsibilities
- Planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
- Maintains staff by selecting, orienting, and training employees, developing personal growth opportunities.
- Maintains workflow by monitoring steps of the process, implementing cost reduction strategies, developing reporting procedures and systems; facilitating corrections to malfunctions within process control points; initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments.
- Completes production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel.
- Ensures operation of equipment by calling for repairs, writing work orders, evaluating new equipment and techniques.
- Other duties as assigned
- Four-year degree from an accredited college or university, in Business Administration, Science/Food Science, Engineering, Agricultural or related field; OR in lieu of degree 5 years of leadership experience in a Food Manufacturing environment.
- 2 years of work experience, preferably in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
- Must possess strong leadership skills, problem solving skills, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills at various levels of the company.
- Effective communication skills for working cross-functionally in a fast-paced work environment.
- Supervisory experience in a unionized environment.
Physical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop; climb up and down stairs and ladders. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work EnvironmentWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. The temperature of the work environment can fluctuate cold/cool to warm/hot. The noise level in the work environment is occasionally loud and will require ear plugs. While working in the manufacturing areas, the incumbent is required to wear personal protective equipment.
