Job Title: IT Programmer Lead

Location: Huntington, WV

Job Summary: The IT Programmer Lead will oversee the development and implementation of software applications and systems within our organization. This role includes supervising a team of programmers, managing project timelines, ensuring the quality of deliverables, and aligning programming activities with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership:

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of programmers and developers.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to team members.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback.

Project Management:

  • Plan, coordinate, and manage software development projects.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and budget.
  • Collaborate with project managers, stakeholders, and other departments to define project requirements and objectives.

Software Development:

  • Participate in designing software applications, developing, testing, and deploying clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
  • Ensure the use of best practices and coding standards within the team.

Quality Assurance:

  • Implement and maintain quality assurance processes and procedures.
  • Perform code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to standards.
  • Address and resolve technical issues and bugs promptly.

Innovation and Improvement:

  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
  • Recommend and implement improvements to existing systems and processes.
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement within the team.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation.
  • Prepare and present reports on project status, team performance, and other relevant metrics.
  • Ensure accurate and timely communication with stakeholders.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Equivalent experience in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Advanced degrees or certifications in relevant areas are a plus.

Experience:

  • Proven experience as a programmer or software developer.
  • Prior experience in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Experience with project management and Agile methodologies.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C#, Python, or JavaScript.
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and DevOps practices.
  • Experience with database management and SQL.
  • Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
