Role: Orientation CoordinatorLocation: Onsite Schedule: Mon – Thu (7:30am – 5pm) Friday (8am-5pm) What work will you perform?As an Orientation Coordinator at Landstar, you'll facilitate the onboarding process for new BCO's and Operators, ensuring they understand Landstar's systems and procedures. This involves hosting open forums for questions, providing guidance on finding loads and getting paid, and emphasizing the use of essential tools like Business Planners and IVR Systems. You'll also offer instruction on Landstar policies, safety regulations, and driving techniques. In addition to assisting with cost calculations and updating files, you'll serve as a backup for fellow coordinators and participate in safety meetings. Your responsibilities will include expense tracking and handling incoming calls, along with any special projects that arise. Essential Responsibilities: Facilitate an open forum where new BCO's and Operators receive assistance and support.Acclimate new BCO's and Operators to the "Landstar System" (ie, how to find loads, how to get paid, who to call for help).Assist new BCO's in calculating their "Cost per mile".Update BCO and Operator files in iSeries 400, as necessary.Provide solutions for BCO and Operator questions/problems/concerns.Perform as a back-up for other Orientation Coordinators out due to illness, vacation, etc.Participate in Safety meetings; may be during non-business hours, weekends or off-site.Track expenses for individual Orientation Center including motels, lunches, etc.Handle incoming calls from BCO's and Operators.Special projects and assignments as needed.Instruct on Landstar policies, logging, hazardous materials, regulatory information and "Decision Driving" skills and techniquesStress importance of Landstar "tools" (Business Planners, Landstar.com, Cell/Web phones, LCN, IVR System, Trip Recorders, etc.). Required Minimum Experience and Education:High School Diploma or GED required, One year of office experience required.One year of customer service experience. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Ability to educate and train individuals in a fast-paced environmentMicrosoft Office Strong oral and written communication skillsProfessional demeanorGood organizational skills.Data entry using Excel
