We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Payroll/Benefits Specialist to join our administrative team. This position is crucial for ensuring accurate payroll processing, administering employee benefits, and maintaining compliance with federal and state regulations. Key Responsibilities of the Payroll/Benefits Specialist include:Payroll Processing:
  • Process semi-monthly payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Verify timekeeping records and consult with supervisors about any discrepancies.
  • Calculate and process special payrolls including bonuses, terminations, and deductions.
Benefits Administration:
  • Administer and manage employee benefits programs such as health insurance, retirement plans and other voluntary benefits.
  • Assist with 401K and self-directed plan administration.
  • Assist employees with benefits inquiries and ensure timely resolution of issues.
  • Coordinate annual open enrollment processes and conduct employee education sessions.
Compliance:
  • Lead the practices compliance with all existing governmental and labor legal requirements including any related to the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), the Department of Labor, worker compensation, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of payroll taxes, benefit contributions, and other required filings.
  • Manage audits related to payroll and benefits.
Record Keeping and Reporting:
  • Maintain accurate employee records and ensure confidentiality of employee information.
  • Prepare and submit regular payroll and benefits reports to management.
  • Assist in the development of policies and procedures related to payroll and benefits administration.
Qualifications for the Payroll/Benefits Specialist include:Education and Experience:
  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in payroll processing and benefits administration.
Skills:
  • Proficiency with payroll software and HRIS systems.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state payroll and benefits regulations.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and professionalism.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Certifications:
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or other relevant certification is a plus.
  • Certified Human Resource Professional-SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR is a plus.
