Lansing School District is Hiring a TEAMS Clinical Supervisor Near Lansing, MI

In Pursuit of this mission, we are expanding our team and hiring a Clinical Supervisor to support the work of the TEAMS Grant (Tactics to Expand Access to Mental Health Supports). We are committed to creating innovative solutions and implementing effective projects that address mental health challenges within the Lansing School District.

Under the direction of the Director of Mental Health, and in accordance with current policies and procedures, the clinical supervisor will supervise and provide support and guidance to Mental Health Clinician staff, Michigan State University School of Social Work Interns and MSU/LSD Fellows. This individual will provide direct clinical supervision to staff for licensure compliance and to meet best practice standards.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Approval by the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA) as one of the following: licensed master’s level social worker, licensed psychologist or licensed professional counselor
  • Five or more years of experience in behavioral health providing direct support for children, adolescents, and/or adults.
  • Knowledge of principles and techniques of mental health/social emotional assessments, consultation, and service delivery models at all tiers of education.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based therapy models and trauma-informed practice.
  • Knowledge of developmentally appropriate therapy methods appropriate to meet the needs of students in all age ranges. Possess high level of discretion, confidentiality and integrity in working with both internal and external stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Two or more years of experience in clinical or related supervisory experience
  • Knowledge of school based mental health programs, universal screeners, MTSS, SEL practices, evidence-based practices
Sample Job Responsibilities
  • Provides direct assistance and supervision of TEAMS clinical staff. The supervisor will mentor, coach, appraise and support professional development for assigned staff.
  • Provide weekly clinical supervision to mental health clinicians, crisis supervision, consultation, support and oversight.
  • Participate in the onboarding of Mental Health Clinicians and Clinical Specialists.
  • Ensure staff awareness of clinical procedures and documentation requirements and monitor/review with staff regularly.
  • Review files to ensure quality and timeliness of clinical documentation.
  • Assist in the ongoing development and oversight of the mental health internship and Fellows program.
  • Participate in partnerships that promote mental health and wellness initiatives.
  • Facilitate professional development for staff of the Lansing School District.
  • Work positively and cooperatively with various community partners and stakeholders.
  • Other duties as assigned to best support the mission of the Lansing School District
