Laramie County Community College is Hiring a Dental Hygiene Office Assistant (LCCC Students Eligible for Federal Work Study Only) Near Cheyenne, WY

This position is only available for LCCC students enrolled in at least six (6) credit hours/semester.

Job Summary: Core responsibilities of this position include:

Assist clinic manager by answering phones, filing, inventory, stocking, HIPPA compliance and Data entry. Assist Faculty with set up and tear down of lab equipment weekly. Assist in maintaining a clean and functional dental hygiene clinic.

Other tasks may be assigned based on contemporary institutional need.

Start Date: As soon as practical.

Compensation: Minimum $13.33/hr.

Responsibilities:

Essential Functions: this position is Non-Exempt, i.e., is eligible for compensatory or overtime pay provisions of the FLSA. This listing of essential duties is not all-inclusive, but representative; other duties may be assigned).

Enhance learning resources by assisting staff and faculty members in deployment and management of dental clinic needs.

  • Assist clinic manager with office duties such as answering phones, inventory, stocking, data entry, and scheduling appointments.
  • Assist instructors by setting up and putting away lab equipment
  • Maintain clean and functional dental clinic.
  • Assist instructors during lab with radiology and sterilization.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 software.

Physical/Mental Demands:

  • Comply with highly inflexible deadlines is required; there will be multiple occurrences of sudden, urgent task completion required.
  • There may be occurrences of interacting with employees and/or students, past employees and/or students, members of the general public, and others who express opinions, may exhibit strong emotions, which will require the employee to interact professionally, diplomatically, and appropriately in such situations.
  • Frequently required to move around the assigned work areas as well as within hallways, meeting rooms, and other parts of the campus facilities.
  • There may be multiple/daily instances of prolonged sitting, standing, kneeling and personal computer use, which would include keyboard and/or mouse usage as well as viewing a computer monitor.
  • An employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds to perform essential position functions. For lifts exceeding 50lbs, a team lift technique is required.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.
  • The overall work environment requires the mental ability to shift focal point quickly due to interruptions; an employee must be able to mentally track multiple projects and tasking as well.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate; however, there may be unexpected instances of somewhat loud sounds.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Highschool Diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Admission at LCCC and continued enrollment in a minimum of 6 credits a semester, (exceptions may be given for summer term with supervisor approval)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • HIPAA eligible
  • Microsoft and Windows experience
  • Interest in healthcare or experience in healthcare
  • Communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
