LaRosa Building Group LLC is Hiring a Construction Superintendent Near Meriden, CT

Construction Superintendent

LaRosa Building Group, LLC, a General Contractor/Construction Manager, is seeking a Construction Superintendent with a minimum of 10 years’ experience as a Construction Superintendent. This opening is for a full-time long-term position in southern & central Connecticut and offers benefits. Position is open and available immediately. Applicants must possess the essential skills and experience listed in the Job Description below. Experience with out of the ground multifamily wood framed projects is preferred. Basic computer skills are required; familiarity with Procore software is helpful, but not necessarily required. Experience managing projects is a requirement.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities will include but not limited to scheduling, coordinating and supervising all trade contractors on site. Maintain daily logs, attend job meetings, maintain as built’s and close out docs. Assist in resolving construction problems. Qualified applicants must have knowledge of all aspects of construction.

  • Supervises subcontractors and foremen to ensure timely and quality completion of contracted work.
  • Plan and coordinate construction activities, inspect construction work in progress, and review materials for compliance with specifications, plans, and standards.
  • In conjunction with Project Manager, manage project schedule to ensure all project deadlines are achieved.
  • Cultivate a working relationship with Project Managers, Project Laborers, Trade Contractors and clients in a manner that encourages a cooperative, team effort and professional approach.
  • Ensure project quality, cost, and schedule meet or beat estimates.
  • Serves as a liaison between the Owner, Architect, Engineer, Contractor and Subcontractor to resolve questions and/or concerns arising during the course of construction.
  • Assist the Project Manager in preparation of aggressive but realistic construction schedules.
  • Reviews, plans and schedules with Project Manager to obtain personnel, material and equipment needs and subcontractor performance in a manner consistent with scheduled requirements, budgeted cost and timely deliveries.
  • Ensure that Safety regulations and Safe practices are followed at all times.
  • Responsible for implementing, maintaining and enforcing all project safety procedures.
  • Complete project records, including daily project progress reports and crew timesheets.
  • Hold weekly job progress meetings with all subcontractors to coordinate project progress.
  • Maintain accurate As-Built drawings.
  • Implement Quality Control Program.

Requirements

  • 10 years related supervisory experience in the construction industry.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, stay within budget, and produce an exceptional project.
  • Ability to plan ahead and extinguish potential issues before they become issues.
  • Experience supervising commercial projects ranging from $1,000,000 to $25,000,000.
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent Organizational Skills
  • Ability to Work in a Team Environment
  • Ability to read and understand technical data, interpret construction drawings, architectural drawings and specifications.
  • Must have experience in all divisions of work, methods, materials and scheduling.
  • Basic layout skills.
  • Proficient with computer skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Safety regulations and Safe practices for the Construction Industry.
  • OSHA 30- Hour Certification.
  • High School Degree
