We are partnering with a Fortune 500 company in the Retail industry looking to bring on a Senior Real Estate Counsel. This individual will contribute to the company's growing asset management function and assist in a variety of real estate matters including strategic lease amendments, managing subleases and owned properties, and counsel internal teams on real estate related matters.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide expert legal advice on a wide range of real estate matters, including acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, and financing.
• Draft, review, and negotiate complex legal documents such as purchase and sale agreements, loan documents, leases, and joint venture agreements.
• Work closely with land-use counsel on new project zoning analysis.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
• Manage relationships with external counsel and oversee litigation and dispute resolution related to real estate.

Qualifications:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the New York State Bar.
• 8 years of experience in real estate law, preferably with some in-house experience.
• Strong negotiation, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
