Larue County Schools is Hiring a District Computer Technician Near Hodgenville, KY

  • Monitor the health of the network by collecting statistics, and monitoring traffic levels and congestion reports.
  • Configure and maintain the active elements in the network.
  • Implement and maintain network infrastructure such as network cable, fiber optic cable, etc.
  • Implement and maintain security systems such as surveillance cameras, door access readers, etc.
  • Maintains Active Directory environment in accordance with KETS/KDE standards.
  • Maintains Google gSuite and Office365 cloud environment and service.
  • Work with vendors and suppliers, service providers, and others to resolve problems and recommend new equipment and service enhancements.
  • Assist users who are experiencing technical problems sending electronic mail or reaching resources outside of the local area network such as a remote printer or file server.
  • Resolve network level communication problems by ensuring that users can access all of the other networks they need to reach in order to accomplish their work.
  • Provide reports for the Board, as requested.
  • Assist CIO in the implementation and maintenance of the District Technology Plan.
  • Be responsible for installation of network hardware and network software in the district.
  • Assist in the supervision of the network to insure its smooth and efficient operation.
  • Provide technical assistance on computer applications.
  • Inspect all computers annually and confer with CIO regarding needed repairs.
  • Cooperate with the CIO in establishing guidelines for in-school repairs and emergency repairs.
  • Assume responsibility for the safe condition of computers, electrical apparatus, wiring, printers, CD-ROM, file servers, tape back-ups, and similar technologies in school facilities.
  • Recommend supplies and equipment for support of maintenance projects and maintain an inventory of District owned tools and equipment.
  • Assist in maintaining current inventory of all hardware, software, and peripherals in the District.
  • Function in committee assignments as designated by the CIO.
  • Able to maintain confidentiality.
  • Maintain regular attendance.
  • Perform related duties as assigned by the Superintendent or CIO.
